Job Title: Manufacturing Systems Engineer - Shipside Location: New Orleans, LA 70129 Area Code: 504 Pay Rate: $45.00-60.00/hour Shift: 1st Employment Type: Direct, Full Benefits #ManufacturingEngineering #AerospaceSystems #NASAJobs Job Overview: We are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to provide on-floor support for the fabrication and integration of complex aerospace hardware at NASA"s Michoud Assembly Facility. This role focuses on real-time production support, redlining work instructions, and managing nonconformance-related follow-up actions in coordination with the operations team. The ideal candidate is mechanically, electrically, or cross-functionally trained, and comfortable working directly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment alongside technicians and engineers. Responsibilities: * Support shipside manufacturing activities by redlining baseline work orders and documenting changes in accordance with engineering requirements * Generate N-Orders based on dispositioned NCRs and input them into the digital MES environment (MESi experience is a plus) * Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of issues on the factory floor * Review and interpret technical documentation such as drawings, work instructions, and specifications * Participate in troubleshooting efforts and escalate issues requiring cross-functional resolution * Communicate clearly with upstream planners and process owners regarding required changes or follow-up actions * Support adherence to configuration management and FOD control requirements Core Qualifications: * Associate"s or Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience) * Background in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments * Familiarity with interpreting drawings, BOMs, and GD&T * Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations or assembly lines * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Highly organized and responsive in production-facing environments Preferred Qualifications & Skills: * Experience redlining work instructions and documenting changes to baseline work orders * Ability to generate N-Orders or perform similar functions based on dispositioned NCRs * Experience using MESi or other digital manufacturing execution systems * Background in mixed mechanical/electrical support * Availability to work an alternate shift (e.g., 3x12s) as needed during peak production cycles Belcan provides a competitive pay and benefits package.
