Job Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in should-cost modeling to support cost analysis and optimization for helicopter components, including machined parts, electronics, structures, and composites. This role involves developing cost models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and engaging with suppliers to ensure cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain should-cost models for helicopter components
* Conduct cost analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities
* Collaborate with design and procurement teams to influence cost-effective designs
* Engage with suppliers to validate cost models and negotiate pricing
* Support make/buy decisions with detailed cost assessments
Core Qualifications:
* 3 - 15+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with focus on should cost and cost analysis
* Proficiency in should cost / estimation tools (aPriori, SEER)
* Well rounded understanding of various manufacturing processes and materials
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
* Experience in aerospace or defense industries
* Knowledge of helicopter manufacturing processes
* Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and DFM principles
* Experience with supplier engagement, negotiation, and procurement
