You will be conducting activities that support destructive microscopy/metallography imaging of GE9X hardware. We are seeking a Materials Lab Technician to support materials testing and analysis in a fast-paced engineering lab environment. This position plays a key role in the inspection, preparation, and documentation of advanced hardware, working alongside engineers and lab personnel to ensure high-quality data collection and component evaluation. Key Responsibilities * Perform dimensional measurements and imaging using a Keyence microscope * Capture and document high-quality photography of hardware for review * Conduct fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) on fielded engine components * Compile inspection and characterization data into structured databases * Support destructive testing activities, including: o Epoxying and fixturing parts o Cutting and mounting sub-elements o Polishing and imaging samples for metallographic review * Maintain status tracking of work queue, progress, and estimated completion timelines * Collaborate with engineers to receive guidance and review inspection results Required Qualifications * 1+ years of experience in a materials lab, manufacturing, and/or production control setting * Experience using Keyence microscopes, cut-off saws, calipers, and scales * Knowledge of FPI techniques and basic microscopy * Familiarity with 3D surface measurement tools such as profilometers, CMMs, or optical scanners * U.S. Citizenship required based on project scope Preferred Attributes * Strong organizational and communication skills * Initiative-driven, with the ability to solve problems and adapt to technical tasks * Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently * Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning internal systems or databases Belcan provides a competitive pay and benefits package.
