We are seeking a Quality Inspection Leader to oversee inspection activities and ensure products and processes meet established quality standards. This position includes mentoring junior Quality Engineers and Inspectors, conducting audits, driving corrective actions, and using data to improve product quality across operations. This role is based at our customer facility and requires a proactive, analytical leader with strong communication skills and a deep understanding of aerospace manufacturing quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and maintain inspector accreditation standards for assigned commodities
* Conduct audits to ensure compliance with inspection processes and calibration standards
* Monitor and manage inspection stamp usage, non-conforming material handling, and quality documentation
* Maintain and update the Monthly Scorecard, tracking key metrics including Scrap %, Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ), MRB, Rework, and Escapes
* Analyze quality data (Pareto, trends, root causes) to identify and address recurring issues by department
* Lead the investigation and resolution of internal and external customer complaints
* Implement containment actions and drive closure of corrective actions across teams
* Attend Out of Flow (OOF) meetings and investigate quality issues related to OOF parts
* Create and manage vendor Quality Notifications (QNs) and coordinate resolution with Supplier Quality
* Participate in One Plan and CI meetings; support the CI Manager with data analysis and improvement efforts
Core Qualifications:
* Associate"s or Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
* 5-7 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or defense
* Proficiency in quality methodologies including Control Plans, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D, and 5 Whys
* Experience with statistical tools and metrics such as SPC, Cpk, and Ppk
* Familiarity with inspection processes, GD&T, calibration systems, and quality management systems (QMS)
* Experience conducting internal and supplier audits
* Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate across teams and departments
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
* ASQ certifications
* Familiarity with FAA, EASA, or DoD quality and regulatory requirements
